A guitar gate and noise suppressor
It was built for the cases where an ordinary gate is no longer enough.
GrandGate combines a Noise Suppressor with three different gating algorithms — Soft, Tight and Hard — in one zero-latency signal path.
The Noise Suppressor works directly on the noise component of the signal rather than simply closing the input during pauses.
That is why GrandGate lets you use high gain even where you previously had to live with heavy hum or pick quieter pickups.
After the Noise Suppressor, the signal can be controlled further with one of three types of gate.
Works as naturally as possible and keeps the behaviour of the instrument.
Makes the signal path more focused and precise.
Meant for the fastest and hardest control.
These are different tools for different jobs, not three variants of the same threshold setting.
All processing runs with zero latency, so GrandGate is meant not only for the mix but for live playing and monitoring through the plug-in.
The result is a genuinely quiet high-gain path, without turning the guitar into a sterile signal and without giving up attack, top end or the natural decay of notes.
We are not aware of another guitar plug-in that combines this kind of signal-path noise suppression, EMI rejection, work with noisy pickups and several fundamentally different gating algorithms in one zero-latency tool.
GrandGate does not try to be another good gate. It closes the problem of guitar noise entirely.
